This 1895 historic beach cottage was a school for 50 years and is the oldest lodging in Virginia Beach still receiving guests.

The Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast is situated on a corner lot, with beautiful scalloped hedges, gardens and award-winning wrap-around porches. The Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast has 5 intimate guest rooms, a great room and a massage room. The massage room is offering custom couples’ and individual massage – take feel good & relaxation to the next level!

The location is perfect and makes it a top destination vacation spot… The Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast is just two blocks from the beach oceanfront and boardwalk, walking distance to many restaurants and activities, and next to the Vibe District!  Many guests leave their cars parked at our onsite parking and walk.

During cooler seasons, Guests enjoy sitting around the outside fire pit or inside by the gas stove reading and having a nightcap or listening to music.
Cancellation Policy
* We will be happy to refund your deposit if cancellation is received 14 or more days prior to your expected arrival. For later cancellation of if you shorten your stay, there is no refund unless we are able to re-rent your room to another.

* All cancellations or refunds are subject to a $25.00 Service Charge.

The Barclay Cottage Bed and Breakfast does not accept pets or animals of any kind.

Policy * Weekend and Holiday Reservations are subject to 2 or 3 night minimum stays. However, we sometimes have fewer nights available because of the way others have reserved during the week.
* For the comfort and health of our guests, Barclay Cottage is a NON-SMOKING establishment. Guests who cannot adhere to this important policy will be asked to leave, forfeit paid room charges, and pay a $300 cleaning fee.
* Children over the age of 10 (call for special arrangements)
* PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED in our inn.
* Check-in is after 3 PM. Check-out is at 10:00 a.m. Early Check-in IS NOT AVAILABLE. The time between check-out and check-in is important for us to prepare our guestrooms and all of the common areas.
* 50% deposit or 100% of a single night stay is required to secure your reservation via cash, or credit card. The remainder, if any, is due upon arrival or check out.
